Memory wire

Dec 04, 2005 1 Replies

I am somewhat confused about purchasing memory wire online. The only time I bought it, was in a coil about 2 inches in diameter and a little over 2 loops. It was quite thin (about the same as the flexible stringing wire size 19) and I bought a dark grey colour. When I had finished a bracelet it fitted me perfectly. I have quite small wrists (6 inches diameter) but would like to be able to have 3-4 loops on a bracelet - and also to make that type for others.

If I wished to buy it by the ounce so I can cut it for myself, can someone please tell me what I should be looking for?

Thanks and cheers

Daisy

Carthage demands an explanation for this insolence!

Hi Daisy,

I bought my last 2 orders from BToucan (not being able to get necklace memory wire locally other than in 1 loop cuts, and sometimes the whole town is out of bracelet memory wire too). Memoty wire is at:

(this is all one line) and I'd also look at their specials:

The 2.25" bracelet memory wire may be larger than you want it for yourself but may be just right for other people. I use it and 1.75" both. Depending on the length of the bracelets I find that 1oz doesn't get me very far, their web site says that for the 2.25" bracelet it's about 70 loops. Oh, and if you have a business license you get wholesale prices. I found that worth signing up for.
