montees or sliders?How to use?

I have some lovely purple small and large ones(montee? they have a silver back with a thread line vertical and horizontal)which are perfect for my cousin's wedding necklace. She needs simple as she is marrying for the second time and is wearing lace over lilac.

The necklace looks great BUT how do you stop them turning and showing the back? I have them threaded and have gone back with a nylon thread and tried to anchor them so they don't twist, but they do.

This is one pre Christmas task I wanted completed. The wedding is next month.

Today I fed 12 for a roast dinner, tomorrow, Christmas Day we are having our favourite dish at my MIL's and Boxing Day we have about 50 for a barbeque-it is meant to be Summer here. Thinking of you all- have a great family time.

Cheers, Jan

I think you will have difficulty with this one Jan. Montees are designed to be sewn on fabric not for stringing.

Apart from sewing them to a narrow ribbon I cannot offer any other ideas. I hope someone else will be able to help. Shirley

Hi, Jan. I had some lovely vintage rose montees and for my birth-daughters wedding, I wired them into a long stalk of wire, covered the stem with florists wire and then they were inserted into her bouquet. It gave a lot of sparkle among the flowers. Perhaps you could take some thin craft wire (like a 26 or 28 gauge) and wire them into place?
