well, truthfully, i'd MUCH rather have a garter snake or some non-poisonous variety. they're just as good mousers and they don't have that poisonous problem.

I LOVE guinea fowl. When they run they look like little old ladies hoisting up their skirts as they trundle along.

true. but they sure are good for keeping the snakes away. however, they are susceptible to things like coyotes, which can make the guinea hens a better deal.

But, the guinea fowl are already there... and feral, so they don't need much in the way of care-- just a few handfulls of feed to bribe them to hang around the place. They already "visit" the family across the road, and I think, the guy next door....

If the "bribes" stop, they'll eventually move on. Kaytee "Simplexities" on

My mother has some who visit all the neighbours on her bayou in Houston. And a rancher up in the Trinity mountains used to have a flock around. rdy things.
