OT: Apologies

Okay guys. I don't want to start a flame war at all. I apologized to the person in question because it did hurt her feelings. I'm talking about the artist in question and not Melissa.

I am not saying I'm not responsible for my action because I am. I explained that my pain meds make me crazy and I'm sure you guys know I've been a little whacky lately. I did get a few pain pills and I was taking them the night I wrote my vent lines.

I just sent the artist a heartfelt apology and I hope she accepts. If she doesn't then I don't really blame her. I would be hurt in her shoes too. She had no idea what had taken place and I hate that I apologized and brought up bad feelings.

Starlia (and Kalera, because Melissa has apologized [privately] to her), I think Melissa would find RCB to be a hospitable and welcoming place if she swallowed her pride and made an apology to the group at large.

I know for a fact that we are an open, loving, and forgiving group. We would probably admire her for her humility. Life is hard, and emotions are difficult to deal with (look at me and my bad, *bad* posts!). I know I would think much more of her than the simple (albeit long) post she made to defend Anne. There is more to any one person than a single post on a newsgroup. And, after all, she did it to stand up for a friend -- an impulse many of us can strongly identify with.

It seems clear she's not a bad person, just wrong about us, and impulsive. Perhaps she will read this and think about joining RCB. (She might even find people here apologizing to *her*.) ~~ Sooz To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~~Joseph Chilton Pearce

Melissa and I spoke and made friends again. I have so missed her company and I think that was part of my frustration. I hope that she sees your post and will come back.

That's a wonderful outcome to a really uncomfortable situation. I am glad for you Starlia! I hope both Anne and Melissa can join us here.

I'm glad to hear this Starlia - nothing worse than being "on the outs" with someone you like. Now maybe we (rcb'ers) can all just let go of this as the principals are all feeling that the issue is resolved. BTW

- I did go and read the WC thread, and I think everyone handled themselves remarkably well, given some of the other copying threads I've seen there and at ISGB. It seems to be the universal theme on every artist's forum.

I was really bummed to find out she hasn't even used her kiln yet. She makes the most amazing clay creations I've ever seen in miniature. They are the tiniest things I've ever seen and perfect.
