OT - better news

The chest X-Ray came back clear. I am so RELIEVED to know the cancer has not spread to my lungs. I really was terrified.

I think it's because of all the RCB vibes. 8-) You all are the greatest!

I'll let you all know what the new treatment will be Tues night. I'm hoping it's just a change of chemo, but I guess it could be chemo every week instead of every other. If that's the case, I will be disabled and unable to work. Still, I can handle it as long as it WORKS! 8-)

Hugs to all of you.

Cheri - who will be way behind in posts because of the Jewish holiday and a house full of kids. I love it.

Hurray!

I'm so glad to hear this, although I'm sure you're even happier.

The vibes will continue, Cheri. You just concentrate on yourself.

*HUGS* So glad!

I will think of you when they call out for ppl who know ppl who are sick tomorrow anyhow.

And Cheri, you are NOT allowed to fast, right?? Make sure to drink enough dispite all of the commotion going on! Dehydration is always a bad co-problem to have.

Yeah, that's what it's called, blessings for healing. (See my obnoxious post later in the thread :) ).

*L* services tonight were HORIBLE btw... the room was way over filled.

And I am sorry, I guess I am just not a music appeciator. I never understand this tendency to get a professional-quality singer singing at the high holidays rather then having everyone sing (even if they sort of encourage ppl to they never do with a really good soloist singing). It just ends up being boring. And with the room being packed, many people in little folding chairs, and the services all day long, it doesn't help to sit there pretending to appreciate singing for long periods of time.

Also the high holidays sidur we have doesn't have transliterations so DH can't follow along during any of the hebrew parts and he is even more bored :/

On the plus side, we went to the grocery store just after services (since DH had "forgotten" to pick up food to donate all week) and got some great bargains, so we got two paper bags full of stuff to donate thoguh the synagogue for the local pantry. I always really enjoy doing these types of donations. Since I volunteered some times at a food distribution place for pantries I have seen what types of donations they get and how they try to put boxes or whatever together for families, so I at least think I know what would be good for families to have... and when I peak in other donation bags I feel that a lot of other congregants don't get it. I get lots of canned vegetables, rice, beans,

100% fruit juice etc, that can be spread out by the families to make relatively healthy meals, and buy extras like salt, pepper, toothpaste, razors, etc that I am guessing the families could really use.

After this I was chattering away about a goody basket another girl and I are making up for a girl who is doing her qualifying exams this week (who was really nice to us when we were thinking of coming to the school and in the last month as we settled in). She does some jewelry making too. I mentioned that I heard her talking about making pink jewelry and that I thought I'd add a roze-quartz and silver bracelet to her basket. DH made a funny remark about how I spend a lot of time "thinking about other ppl". I asked him what he meant, since I had been guiltily thinking during Yom Kippur Eve service that I do not spend enough time thinking about other people. He said I would "never make a good husband" because I am "always thinking ahead about what people would like" :):) *L* I guess that is a comment about our relative strategies in gift buying, since he always buys gifts at the last minute and forgets to wrap them, while I stock pile throughout the year, delighted to find things I think ppl would really like.

Sorry for this totally unrelated post.

Usually I spend Yom Kippur feeling more and more guilty. I guess that can come tomorrow :)

I havent fasted for several years, since I got diagnosed as diabetic. Although they don't seem to mind me fasting for Cat Scans or other tests! DH wanted me to carry a bottle of water in my purse while I'm at shul. LOL. I told him that would not fly (didn't explain we're not even supposed to carry purses!)

And believe me, he'd be delighted to. But the ex (Andy) is now president of the synogogue so he got them to donate a ticket to me. Guess he didn't think Frank would be interested.

Cheri, What good news, and I hope it keeps getting better. Enjoy the holidays. I don't know if this is a proper greeting at this time of year, but my sentiment is genuine when I say "l'chaim!" (even if my spelling is incorrect, I'm sure you understand my meaning). Carlinda
