OT: Computer problems

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know that I've been having computer problems and can't access the newsgroup through AOL right now. I finally got my computer fixed so I don't have to use the Dinosaur anymore (my mom's computer), but now I can't get AOL to load and that's how I read this group. :-( I even called AOHell and they told me to go to a repair shop to get it fixed (their "free" CD was what messed up my computer this time and why I can't load AOHell). From what I can gather the CD corrupted a file in my computer which it uses to load the program. But of course they wanted to blame it on every other program I have in my computer. So now the only way to access this group is through google which is a PITA to do. So once again I will be gone for the time being until I can get this thing to work correctly. Hope everyone is ok! I'll miss you guys!

Ok, I'm trying to post through FOORUMS even though I can't understand anything on the page (why is it in a different language?) Lets see if it shows up. Can anyone see me?

i'll say it one more time. we have usenet access accounts available. free of charge to people here. we don't carry binary groups, but we will carry any other group you need. contact me by e-mail.

you SHOULD be able to use your AOL connection and then use something like "Agent" to read groups. you don't HAVE to use aol.

Ok, I'm back on the Dinosaur (which means I'm back on AOHell on my mom's computer). :-( I can't stand not being able to read this group. I must have over a thousand unread messages. I hate hate hate not being caught up in here! Argh! And tho I prefer using my *own* computer this will have to do for now until I figure something else out.

I know exactly how you feel. Our news server for cox communications was running slow for the past week. Seems to be okay today. It would take minutes just to read one message. I felt like I was back in 1991 on my old cable modem.

Hang in there. I hope your computer is fixed soon and the bead Gods smile upon you.
