I am home but I feel a trifle shaky. We set of just after 7.30am this morning. We had only got to the bottom of the road when we arrived on a scene of a head to head car crash. Normally I would have offered assistant but I needed to get on. DH did a U turn and we made a detour. The motorway was exceeding busy at that time of day with traffic queues at every junction.
We got to the hospital in time. I had an ECG first then went for the stress test. The technicians were great. I had canula's put in both hands. The drug was delivered by a pump. The nurses encouraged me to talk to them. So I talked about my beady friends and beadwork. Within seconds the first thing hit me. I was finding it difficult to breath, then my jaw and ears got a tingly feeling. Next came pains in my stomach and abdomen followed by s strange feeling in both legs. Then the angina pain hit me. I was asked if I could bear it until the end of the test. Still trying to talk about beadwork I managed to do so. What a relief when the drug was stopped and things started to settle down. During the test the radio active drug was administered ready for me to have the second test.
A porter wheeled me to the other department for the gamma X ray. In order to help disperse the radio active material from my liver I had to eat two ham sandwiches and drink milk.
After awhile I was taken to the xray after having my bosom encased in a strong elastic boob tube. I had to lay perfectly still with my arms above my head for 20 minutes while the machine went though its paces.
I was allowed home, but I must confess that I have felt a little under the weather since I got home.
I have to ring up next week because it may be necessary to go back to have the second half of the test done again. More radio active work
So now for a rest and a good night's sleep.
You were surrounding me today. Love Shirley
