OT Update - stress producers

After the good news about DH's heart yesterday, we had some sad news. A call in the middle of the night informed us that DH's aunt had passed away peacefully. She had a long, happy and full life. So today we were busy making arrangements, making phone calls, etc. But, we're relieved to have it all done before our trip departure. A service will be held at a later date for the family.

The little grandson is still sick. His mom, my DIL, took him to the doctor again today only to find out that he has ear infection on top of his viral sickness. Poor kid! I just hope he's better tomorrow as DH and I are supposed to babysit he and his brother in the evening.

It's got to get better...just can't wait for Tuesday to come!

Glad your DH's aunt went peacefully.

So sorry about your little grandson. Sounds pretty miserable. Hope he feels better soon.

I can't help but wonder and offer. When our grandtwins launched into high level ear/etc violence every Christmas, I suggested that it might be the Christmas tree. ( Not just a live tree, but the chemical garbage they're sprayed with.) DDIL poo-poo-ed my thoughts until the Experts with many hospital trips and treatments were pretty much useless. FINALLY, she took the @#$! tree outside. Grandtwins - clear and well. End of story. Not exactly. Our DD had miserable (for everybody) ear infections and the only 'cure' was to keep her cool. As long as we kept her environment very cool, she was well and happy. In conclusion? None - except sometimes you have to be your own common sense advocate. Polly

Polly,

I understand exactly what you mean. Our youngest son always had allergy problems around Christmas. After eliminating the real tree, we discovered that he was allergic to the dust that falls out of the shell when you crack whole nuts. It would get into the air and the heating system in the house, so it didn't matter where he was...he'd get all stuffed up and have puffy eyes. etc. When he was older, he was tested and found out he's extremely allergic to nuts.

Grandson is a little better today, but I really doubt they'll be able to put the tubes in his ears on Monday.

Freezing here in PA.....the Amish have blankets on their buggy horses!!

Howdy!

Makes it tough, being related to polar bears.

R/Sandy - prefers the cool, also
