Prayers needed for FIL

I just found out yesterday that my Father in law has been admitted to the VA hospital with pneumonia. He is in his 80's and he's been through this before, but this time he has it worse , and evidently has been sick with it for a few days and didn't know it, or....as stubborn as he is, he didnt TELL anyone he was that sick! I feel awful!! I dont get out there to visit them as often as I should, or I would have noticed he was so sick and took him to the doctor! my MIL knew he wasn't feeling good, but she didnt realize how bad. She is taking this really hard. DH is a little stunned...his dad always seems to bounce right back. I'm afraid at this age, anything could happen to him. I am hoping he recovers from this. I lost my mom to pneumonia, and I'm a little nervous about his condition...prayers are very much welcomed! Thank you!

thank you all for your support and prayers for my FIL! I went to see him Friday night and I didn't have much hope, after seeing the difficulty he is having with his breathing. Yesterday he was worse yet, totally disoriented, meds not working, and fighting with the nurses when they are trying to suction his lungs, so that they had to strap his hands down. I had just about given up. Today, we went again, and he was actually a little better mentally, but his breathing is still very bad, and they are almost to the point of having to intubate him. The thing is, since they put some forced air tubing (I dont know the technical term for it) on his oxygen mask, he is more alert, his BP is better, and he is recognizing family again. I am praying this is a good sign! I will keep you all updated Linda
