Today DH and went to visit Su and her family and the SHED. It was quite nice when we left but we hit rain on the motorway. DH and I had not been to that part of the country before and we were surprised at the beauty of the scenery along the way. The trees are dressed in their late summer greens highlighted with the glowing red of the Hawthorn berries of which there are a large amount. That is usually a sign of a harsh winter.
When we got to where the boat was moored I had to ring Su to open the gate for us to go in and park.
Meeting Su was if I have met a long lost friend. We was given a tour of the boat. It was so compact. It was a case of a place for everything and everything in its place.
After tea and biscuits Su took me to her beading quarters whilst DH and Mike conversed.
Su was very generous in giving me many of her seed beads and accents beads plus a card making magazine. Su is one very generous lady. We swapped suppliers of beads etc.
I have never seen so many lamp worked beads all at one go. Su has quite a collection. I got to see lovely Stalia beads as well as some simply gorgeous poly clay beads.
Unfortunately the bracelet I made her was a tad too small so I brought it back to make it larger and I will post it back to Su
DH got the first viewing of bead making in the SHED. He was quite interested in it. I got to go in second and I was intrigued by it and I certainly would like to try it. Who knows if DH wants to do it there could be some equipment going in our shed.
We left after a couple of hours, it really was not long enough we could have told each other many more stories.
We drove home in the sunshine feeling very happy with our visit. Shirley
