OT I'm sick and I miss you guys.

Uuuggghhhh is the word of the day, my friends. I'm gonna sit here and wallow in my pity pool for a moment. >wallowing....wallowing.....wallowing.....all done<

I've been reading all the posts, but responding takes a lot of energy. I can't walk across the room with feeling as tho I've just run a marathon.

Tyler is in his crib coughing his head off right now. Darian is so doped up on medicine that he can't recall his own name at times. Adam thinks he's getting this mess too. Mom is trying valiantly not to get it. Fun fun fun in my house. Sinus infections and bronchitis have moved in and made themselves right at home.

Anyway, all the pics that have been posted of folks work the past couple of days really blew me away--that goes for all bead weaving, lampworking, bracelets, etc, etc.....Awesome stuff y'all.

Now back to sipping my liberally laced apple cider, and bemoaning the fact that I can't get up the energy to actually use the Delicas my wonderful mother brought me. My first ones!

(((((((hugs)))))))) Candace, I have been in the same situation for a few weeks myself. When you're sick like this, it is really hard to muster the energy to respond to everything. Just take care of yourself, darlin'! I hope you and your family feel better soon!

I'm going to join you. Trinkett and I were sneezing our heads off today. We both are still on allergy meds along with Smudges. We don't have bronchitis but I feel for you. Come on over. I have super soft Puffs.

Ooohhh Puffs..never tried those. Do they have lotion in them? I can't stand that icky slimy sensation lotion tissues leave on my upper lip, LOL! I've got my 3 ply Kleenex working double time tho. If I come over, can we lay around and be big babies for a day or two? I really wanna be a big baby right now.

Even better, Mom is making her pumpkin-chicken stew this week. I am going to dive into a bowl of it and not come up until my third helping, at least:)

Oh poor baby! I hate being so sick, especially when everyone else is too and there is no one to take care of ME.

OOO, delicas, ahhh, what a loving Mom!

Please ask Mom for a recipe, that sounds very yummy.

Get well soon, or we'll have to send Jewish style chicken soup over! Better than penicillan!

Here's a REALLY good recipe for a Thai style pumpkin soup. I made it for a school luncheon and the teachers all freaked over it!! it's from Cooking Light Magazine:

Thai-Style Pumpkin Soup From Cooking Light If you have someone who doesn't like pumpkin in anything else, let them try this soup. If you don't have fresh pumpkin, canned works just as well.

2 (16-ounce) cans fat-free, less-sodium chicken broth 1 (15-ounce) can pumpkin 1 (12-ounce) can mango nectar 1/4 cup reduced-fat chunky peanut butter 2 tablespoons rice vinegar 1 1/2 tablespoons minced green onions 1 teaspoon grated peeled fresh ginger 1/2 teaspoon grated orange rind 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper 1 garlic clove, crushed Chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Combine first 3 ingredients in a large Dutch oven, and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes. Combine 1 cup pumpkin mixture and peanut butter in a blender or food processor; process until smooth. Return mixture to pan. Stir in vinegar and next 5 ingredients (vinegar through garlic); cook 3 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Ladle into soup bowls. Sprinkle with cilantro, if desired.

Yield: 6 servings (serving size: 1 cup)

(oh, and it also works if you just toss all the main ingredients into a crock pot!...forget all that "blend, boil" garbage! LOL

Then, at the last, toss in the last few ingredients! Yum!

(((((Candace)))))....So sorry you're not feeling well! What you all need is some of what I call voodoo soup. Chicken soup, preferably homemade...(hint, hint Candace's Mom...) Heat it and put it in your bowl, then to each bowl add the juice from 1/2 of a lemon, and one whole garlic clove, crushed. (The key is to add the fresh lemon and garlic after the soup has been heated.) Have a bowl 2 or 3 times a day and you'll feel better in no time. Meanwhile, rest assured that no one will come around to bother you because of the horrific garlic breath! LOL! That's why everyone in the house needs to have some so you all smell the same. Feel better real soon!
