OT Pet Antics

This is just a small moment in my day that I want to share with you all. While driving to work this morning, I saw on the back ledge of the car in the next lane a black and white, long haired kitten, about six months old. It was calmly grooming itself while basking in the thin winter sunshine that poured trough the rear window. My cat literally craps herself in the car (an unpleasant experience for all concerned) so I was quite surprised to see this little moggy in the morning commuter traffic, obviously enjoying the ride.

I had a cat once who thought he was a dog or something. I'd put a harness on him, and a special short lead that attached to the seatbelt, and took him for rides all the time. He liked to sit in the front with me, and look at the big rig trucks, especially. then he'd lie down, making sure to have one paw on my leg at all times. It was really sweet! I sure miss that little guy. He was sick, and we couldn't move him when we came here from CA, so we found a vet's assistant who was willing to adopt him. I have my doubts that he's still alive, but then that would mean that he is keeping his old buddy, Mel, company (the kitty we had to put to sleep last month.).

Oz slang for a cat! Just don't ask what a 'soggy moggy' is.

The same thought crossed my mind. I spent the rest of the trip to work imagining "Moggy's Day At The Office"

I've encountered several retail stores where the owner's cat(s) held court during open hours :-)

more moggy now--ooowwww!!!"

Sounds like it could be one of Dr. Demento's Top Ten Tunes! He had some seriously sick ones.... But, he gave Wierd Al his start! ("Another One Rides the Bus!" debuted on Dr. D's show...).

When I re-read my post I couldn't help but wonder why my memory has stored this obnoxious song. Why can't I recall at will, oh I don't know, a stanza from a Classic Poem or passage from a Great Novel, something that will impress my friends and colleagues and leave no doubt as to how learned and witty I am. Not a chance. My brain is a treasure house of this useless trivia and objectionable minutia....LOL

Marisa, I've got a song stuck in my head that maybe you can help with. It's from an Australian movie about a waitress/singer who makes it to the big time with her music. The song lyrics I can't forget are "It's the monkey in me that makes me want to do it...".

Is that a movie you might remember? It was on cable here in the States... oh, I don't know... maybe in the mid 1980's. The lead singer wore this funky outfit when she sang. If I remember right there was a tutu in there somewhere. :) I think the movie ended with her dancing and singing that song on the countertop of the diner she worked in. :)

I've heard that song too, but not for a while.

That was OK.... So was "Pencil Neck Geek". It was the ones like "Dead Puppies" and "Open Me First at Christmas" that make me rather ill..... Kaytee "Simplexities" on

Chorus: "Fish heads, fish heads, Roly-poly fish heads. Fish heads, fish heads, Eat them up-- YUM!"

The verses talk about taking fish heads to movies, their "easy care" characteristics as "pets" and friends.... Kaytee "Simplexities" on
