OT: Snow Day!

I know some of you are sick to death of snow. But it's a huge novelty for us, especially DH and DS. It snowed in our beloved mountains during the week and yesterday, we spent the day there, playing in it. Here's the blog link, there are some fun pics:

I mean who's not whose. Put it down to exhaustion. I just finished a very large, instensly woven piece; I should really be in bed, not dorking out on the computer while watching LOTR for the 50 bajillionth time!!

Perhaps, but we have way more roads than all you guys put together! So, total mileage/kilometers counts, as well as number of (crazy) drivers too?? Really, just teasing here...

Actually the opposite-side-of-the-road driving is one thing that worries us about every visiting one of your lovely countries because we would prefer not to be shuttled around on tour buses. But neither I or my DH think we would be able to drive on the left side of the road even when the cars have the steering on the right. 'Tis worrisome.

Still - your snow day looked wonderful. What a beautiful country!

Looks like so much fun! I never get sick of snow. :) Of course, we don't get a ton here, so it's a novelty to us, too.

LOL, I'm not sure total road kg's counts, but nice try Marjeanie!!

When dad comes to visit us in Aussie, he drives. Very carefully mind you, but he does drive. The country roads are loooonng and reasonably straight in Western Australia, so he feels safe (he has a slight tendancy to over compensate and hug the roadside). However, I doubt very much that he'd want to drive in NZ. Maybe from Chch to Dunedin; this route is on the coastal plain and it's very straight and uneventful. The mountain driving is hairy, it certainly makes my stomach flip flop from time to time even though DH is the one doing the driving. When we move to the states, what I intend to do is take a few driving lessons. This way I'll feel a bit more confident to venture forth.

It's good to hear that, Kandice. It wearies me when people are complacent. I guess if I've learned anything I've learned to grasp life's opportunities and enjoy every moment possible. I think of people who may never be able to and consider myself blessed.

This last week we've finally gotten some warm weather. Into the 40F's all week, and all of a sudden all the snow is rotting. Lots of people are parked on the road because of the 5 or 6 inches of thawing and freezing packed snow in their driveways. Finally.
