OT - something to be thankful for

Last night, on our way home from an errand, we missed being in a really nasty wreck by about 10 feet. That's how close the car was that spun across 2 lanes and into the retaining wall behind us.

We called the incident in, and circled back on the feeder street to see if anyone was hurt. By the time we got to where we could see the wreck, the police were already there, so we didn't go near -- but we saw the car sitting halfway

*over* the retaining wall; another 3 feet and it would have gone straight down onto the street below the overpass. There were at least 2 ambulances on-scene (we sat in a parking lot for about 10 minutes watching). No other vehicles seemed to be involved.

No idea what caused the accident in the first place, but my money is on a blown tire; that would account for the vehicle spinning out of control. Those of us who are sitting home safe with our families today, please spare a few thoughts and prayers for the people in that accident, whose holiday (along with their car) is now wrecked.
