Talk about dumb luck!
Yesterday we drove down to "the house we want" (as we've been calling it) and just walked around the lot, measured because we thought it was bigger than the normal ones, and peeked into a similar model that's being framed up. Then we stopped in the office to find out if the agent knew anything more about it becoming available. Turns out she was told Friday that they get officially released to sell Monday, BUT they were also going to be raising the price. Sooooo she bent the rules a tiny bit and let us sign a contract yesterday! We saved on the price increase plus since we're going with their mortgage company we get $4000 in incentives towards closing costs. Woohoo!
So, even though it's just the start of the whole process....WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!
I'm waiting for it to be 9 here so I can call the mortgage company and the design center. The house won't be complete for 6-8 months but there's a lot to get started early. Wow!
