Hmmmm - tons! A Bead Source is on SE Division and around 160th - wonderful for their Czech Glass selection. Their sterling is darn expensive.
Dava Bead - there are two locations - one in SW Portland and one near downtown on Broadway (east side of the river) and about 18th or so.
My Tyme Beads - this one is in Tigard on Main. It's the one I went to the most - this is a small city SW of Portland about 20 minutes or so from downtown.
I used to live in Portland until last year, so if you have questions let me know! :)
Too bad I will be in Salt Lake City that week, otherwise I would drive down and meet you!
Sniff! SLC! You have to put it off... you have to...LOL Our hotel is actually in Tigard so i am sure we will go to My Tyme Beads

Beads Forever on Hawthorne has decent semi-precious strands, and a larger variety of stones and shapes than most LBSs I've seen.
I agree with Kandice about A Bead Source and their Czech glass. They also have silver and gemstone pendants, dichroic cabs and buttons, and a *lot* of beadwork books. Some I hadn't seen anywhere else.
There is a small place downtown called Bead It, I believe ... but their selection is fairly 'standard', not anything too unusual. It used to be in The Galleria in downtown Portland, but moved to a stand-alone storefront not far away.
When it was in the Galleria, its neighbor in the building was a rock shop that had wonderful stuff, and I believe both shops had the same ownership. Could be wrong about that, and unfortunately, I don't know where the rock shop moved when the bead store relocated. :-(
Haven't been to the store in Tigard yet, but on Kandice's recommendation, it looks like I need to go...

I'm afraid that I got hooked on buying half-kilos of Japanese seed beads at Bobby Bead in my former hometown. I need to find another bulk source near me ... one where I can actually *look* at colors before making my selections.
But I have a major sh*tload of seed beads already. I'm just basically insatiable about cool colors. :-)
I'll see if I can MapQuest my way to My Tyme some time next week while Genny is at work.

Let It Bead. They are now on Alder between 8th and 9th. Next door to Broadway Bagels (yummy!).
The Fossil Cartel is now located in Pioneer Place. Go down to the bottom level and it is in the hallway between the Atrium and the Rotunda buildings (Atrium=most of the shops, including Swarovski on 2nd level, food court on bottom level; Rotunda=some shops, theatre on top floors).
Oh, Deirdre if you like the rock shops, and are in Tigard anyway, go to downtown Beaverton, and there is a shop called the Crystal Heart on Hall Blvd. which is vaguely metaphysical. Around the corner form that is a rock shop. I can't remember the name, but it was very cool!
Thanks. I am making notes :-).
I'm somewhat geographically impaired (IOW, I get lost a lot) but I am not above getting out of the car and asking for help, so I generally get where I am going eventually.

I have tended to use MapQuest, but since they steered me *totally* wrong in my attempt to find Costco, maybe Yahoo Maps gets my business this time.
I -do- depend on online maps a lot. And the driving directions feature. What a great service to those of us with no innate sense of direction.

Mapquest once directed me to get on two different (neither close nor convenient) freeways to get to an address that turned out to be 40 blocks straight down the street I live on, and two blocks south.
Never trust a computer to use judgement... it only follows orders.
