Re: Kaleidoscopes for Beading (AD)

Cylindrical Kaleidoscopes for beading. These are made of brass, rather small, and I am organizing a group buy.

For a photo, go here:

Yup, this is the one I think I'll open up for a group buy. Please email me at my AOL mailing address: kathynv at AOL dot com with the number of kaleidoscopes you want. I'll write back to you with a total and payment instructions.

I'll apologize in advance, but if I don't know you, I'll need your money before I order the kaleidoscopes. If I know you, I'll ask for the money when the kaleidoscopes hit my house, and before I ship them to yours. I reserve the right to refuse an order from anyone for any reason. Sorry about the strict rules, but I can't afford to lose that much money, and God knows I don't need 25 brass kaleidoscopes.

I'll keep the ordering period open from now until September 25. That gives everyone a good two weeks to decide how many she wants and to get back to me.

If you email me, and do not get a response within 24 hours, post to the group

-- AOL has been eating my email lately. Just before I place the order, I'll email again to confirm.

Just another public service from your friendly neighborhood bead kook,

Query (to the group as a whole): If I order one of these kaleidoscopes, is there someone who'd be willing to bead it for me? I don't do seed-bead work (bad eyesight and not enough patience!), but I do have a small collection of interesting kaleidoscopes, and this would be a worthy addition to it. I'd be happy to compensate the artist for his or her time.and materials as well as buying the kaleidoscope itself.

Celine,

I don't mind beading the things with two conditions:

I cannot follow a pattern to save my life. The kaleidoscope will probably end up as a rainbow swirl, unless you designate colors.

I will probably use 8/0 beads, or a combination of 8's and 11's. I cannot use those damn Delicas to save my life, either. They make me blind and crabby.

If you want a pattern in 15/0s or 22/0s, I'm not your woman, but otherwise, these appear to be a 1-2 evening project.
