That was part of the spiel. I cancelled AOL and as much as I could that had to do with Time Warner also. I can't stand them.

"Me too!" After not being able to get my e-mail for TWO weeks (which really sucks when you run an e-Bay business,) I canceled Earthlink a few years back. They continued to charge me for three months, and I never was reimbursed. Earthlink is definitely on my boycott list!

Of course, I also have AOhell stories, but really, what could I add that would be new?(!)

You got that right honey. I just finished two days of not being able to read my newsgroups (sob!). Somehow, parental controls spontaneously reset themselves so that I couldn't access newsgroups at all. I phoned AOL twice and both times they gave me the wrong information. I finally figured it out myself. There is a specific control for newsgroups settings which they didn't even mention. Dora

Dora - read your newsgroups thru Google or get set up with a free newsgroup service and read them in Outlook Express. Much, much better that AOL. I had that for 7+ years - and I am so glad to be out.

That happened to me too the last couple of days. I just kept having to sign in under the master screen name and constantly switch it back. Then I realized that I could assign my other screen names "additional master", so it wouldn't be so inconvienient. It stopped doing it after about the 3rd time I had to switch it all back. Don't you just love AOHell?

Oh I solved the problem. The newsgroup controls are under a button called 'more options' on the control settings page for the screen name, and it is easy to reset them. For some reason, these are spontaneously resetting themselves all over (there is a thread on the needlework group), and AOL staff don't seem to know where these controls are located.8-)
