ah - HIS own father. i really severely limited their contact with him, but he did a lot of damage anyway.

Roll your stuff. For t shirts fold in half long ways, fold the sleeves in and astar at the bottom and roll tightly, smoothing out wrinkles as you go. Rolled things take up much less room and stay rolled much easier than folded. Susan W

So I'm not alone...

I learned to do this when I was a kid at camp. Lets you get more into a modest-sized pack. And works well in drawers, too.

Sadly, once that has happened, too many people "join the dark side" and are more than happy to crush anyone *else* who shows signs of imagination.

This works fine until you have a few dozen black T-shirts, each with a different design on the front, and you're looking for a particular one.

Yet another reason for us to support one another. If we band together, encourage each other, and invite more people to join us, we can counteract the soul deadening effects of society.

Any creative activity can keep us out of the prison of joylessness. Beads, stories, gingerbread houses - it doesn't matter. What does matter is that we express our feelings with our chosen medium and ignore those voices that want to crush the spirit and destroy the imagination.

I have found that shelves work really well for me. if i could, i would build a bunch to put in the closet and even put in an extra one above the rod. Boards and bricks would work, even! However, I have two dressers, and am forced to use them ,until i figure out something better to do...sigh

Well, imagination is very liberating, and it seems to me that willing Pod People regard the free ones as their natural enemies. Which we pretty much are, except that we long for them to find a reason to join us, while they want to stamp out what makes us different. IME.

I learned rolling from a vet. And since then I have rolled whenever possible when traveling, but I haven't done that with laundry. Maybe because I do laundry at a laundromat. Laundry at home would involve a new well (min $10,000 here) and septic system (tank, field, etc) at the least.

The most useful distinction I've ever encountered is that introverts feel drained and in need of "time alone to recharge" after spending a day around other people; extroverts feel drained and in need of "company to recharge" after a day spent alone. Most people who meet me would never take me for an introvert -- but BOY, do I fit the first half of that distinction!
