I do mine in a relatively sunny window in the afternoon. I have two bits of foam-core taped together at right angles and one bit underneath for the jewellery to sit on. (Does that make sense?) and then I snap away. After that I play with the piccies in Corel Photo Shop, although we've just got Adobe photo shop so I'll probably switch to that soon. This is in not-so-sunny Wales so I guess the conditions where you are will be fairly similar!

It would be nice to get a sunny window. The weather here is frigging awful. Have to have the lights on during the day. It as never stopped raining since 8am this morning here. Good thing we live 640 feet above sea level. Shirley

"Corel" Photo Shop? Maybe you meant Adobe PhotoShop? ;-)

By the way, PhotoShop Elements is terrific alternative to the full-blown PhotoShop and considerably less. ($600)

I have portholes. Not exactly conducive to letting in any sunshine, which has been in very short supply this week. For once the canal isn't being shut frequently due to lack of water.

We're in rainy and horribly sodden Lancashire. Or Yorkshire, depending on who you talk to. I haven't seen my shadow in days unless I use a desk lamp!

We were amazed to see the cricket today on tv! It's bucketing down here and they're getting sun at the Oval! That's just not fair.

Same here. It's dire, right now. There's a landslip along the canal and that section is closed for a month! Good thing we didn't go out for our holiday or we'd be sitting in Manchester until October.

That's the one good thing about being in a boat. :-D Plus, we're above the river and pretty high up along here. I don't know the actual height but it's way above the flood levels around here.

Corel has one, too.

No, I use Corel Photo Paint (Not shop, sorry). As for Adobe Photo Shop, we've already got it. I just don't like it.

Adobe has some tremendous features. but it's intended for really high-powered users and has a LONG learning curve. just like most Adobe products. when you need those features, nothing else will work as well . . . but 90% of the population doesn't need them.

Well, the BF uses it for his photo restoration stuff and can use most of the features. He can't abide Corel. Equally, Adobe just isn't set out the right way for me, but then I have been using Corel for about 8 years now! In fact it's the only graphics programme I've used and I've never had a manual! I'm still on the version I got all those years ago too, I just can't afford to update! I've not found anything that works nearly as well for me.

I hate it when software is "improved" I mean, the new features are all good, but leave the layout the same!

I love PSP, though my version isn't new.

But I wish more software developers would take a lesson from AutoCAD and keep the basic programming and commands the same. They have changed symbols and cosmetics, but one you know the basic commands, they work on all the versions.

You do AutoCAD too?? I spent 22 years doing drafting. The last seven years I was using AutoCAD and CadStar to do printed circuit board design. Seems like a whole 'nuther life ago.
