These patron saints would represented members of guilds in the middle ages. Perhaps these groups would all have been represented as people who deliver us on our journey and/or light our way there.

It was the association with guilds that was in my mind when I suggested that if there wasn't a muse, there was probably a patron saint.

According to my daughter, my husband is good to snuggle with/fall asleep on, because, and I quote, "He's warm".
