St. Petersburg Necklace

I had no idea what I wanted to do with it, but I was dying to try the St. Petersburg chain, so I chose colors that looked good together. You can't tell, but the crystals are an irridized amethyst.

I made the chain and then had to decide what went with it, so I got out some beads that I'd made:

I really liked the goddess, but wasn't sure about the hole going horizontally, so I decided on a vessel. I liked the vessel in the middle, but it wasn't a bead. Then, I didn't like the vessel on the left. The handles look too much like ears! Lol. Finally, I went out to the studio and made up a vessel-type bead, but with no handles. I'm not sure if this is my fave, so I may re-do it when I make a bead I like better. I'm thinking of going back and doing another ancient looking goddess, but with the hole going vertical. Here's what I've done:

I do love this St. Petersburg weave though!!

Jerri -- I love all your posts -- dogs, guinea pigs, etc. -- but especially the beady ones. You are dilligent about keeping us up to date with what you are trying and I just love viewing the results. Thanks for another great post!

Becki

Thanks, Becki!!

I love sharing, and learn so much from others. I wish more folks would post their work.

And I do get a little OT, don't I? I'm glad we have a bunch of animal lovers here.

I love this necklace Jer! I have GOT to get back to beading. Working full time just takes TOO MUCH TIME! LOL

Thanks, Karleen!

I love that stitch. I could definitey do more of these.
