Tennessee Bead Show

I went to the Intergalatic Bead Show at the Tennessee state fair grounds last weekend. I went with $160 but I blew that budget all to heck. Here is a short list of what I am taking home:

12 sets of pearls - large pearls 3 sets of small pearls 5 beautiful watch faces (actually 4 since I gave cousin Betty her watch) 3 pounds of Moretti & Vetrofond glass 1 boro starter pack $55 worth of gorgeous Bali 2 sets of garnet - 1 for Candace and 1 for me 2 sets of pliers for wirework

That's all I can remember at the moment but I'm sure I forgot more.

Obviously your IBS had a lot more to offer than the one they slapped together her in York recently.

What is a "set of garnet"? Details, please.

Part of the reason for that being so small was that the show was scheduled on fairly short notice to begin with (part of the new northeast group of shows they are adding to the schedule) and then it had to be rescheduled so some of us who were originally scheduled couldn't make it.

By the time it comes to York again in November (13 &14) it should be better. I'll be there, anyway, LOL!

As will I. It may not be big but if I don't go, they'll either stay small or not return. I have to do my part.

That's right, LOL! And I have a coupon on my website that you can print out for a discount to the IBS shows.

I REALLY want it to keep coming to York, because that is the only one close enough that I'd be able to do without getting a Motel room. I'll keep trying to talk the other vendors into signing up for that one :) Joan Eckard

I'd appreciate it. And knowing that it will be there again, I will notify my beading buddies in the surrounding area. I can get several to come from Carlisle, Lancaster, etc. They might have this last itime but the timing was poor and I had to work. We'll make a full day of it this time. :-)

They are faceted garnet beads. Very small but pretty. The larger garnet stands just weren't affordable after I spent so much.

I had seen you on their roster JoAnn and was hoping you were going to be there.

Once I master RAW (I can do one row, but haven't gotten that second row to flow correctly just yet) I was thinking that these would look awesome paired with S. crystals--I can picture the way the light would filter thru the garnets and splay out of the crystals.

If they have a bead show - I'll be there with plastic in hand!

I can do that! And it's so cool! I'm wearing a double row RAW with Swarovski crystals as I type. SPARKLY!!

ooooooohhhhhhhhh I'm jealous, *grin* On two accounts--I can't do the double row yet and I don't think I have enough of one type of crystal to do a double row choker yet! lol.

I bet it's gorgous, JoAnn!!!

See if you can access this page. I scanned in the bracelet I had on. It's made from Shadow AB 2X and Heliotrope AB. It doesn't scan well - waaaay too sparkly.

What part of the double row is throwing you off?

I get an error message when I try to see it:( I think my biggest problem is that every time I've sat down to work out the RAW, I've chosen a bad time--the kids are up, the video games are loud, the cat is cranky, the husband is suddenly 4 and can't fend for himself, lol. So by the time I get that first row done, I'm sick of all the interruptions and I give up.

BTW, did I mention here that I taught myself the single row RAW on accident? I wanted a bracelet to look a certain way, so I opened up Paint, drew bead shapes (rounds) placed them where I wanted them to go, and worked out the thread path with the pencil tool. Then, later that same day, I went looking for the RAW tutorial, because I wanted to learn it, finally. As I'm following along with my needle, thread and beads, I realize that I had taught myself the stitch that morning. LOL!

Okay - I'll post it to another area in a bit. Topaz has a vet appt at 6 and she's NOT going to be a happy camper!

I can't see it very well. Can you send it to me so I can get a good look?

I'll post it in another spot later this evening. Had to reset my newsgroups - lost RCB all day yesterday. Now system wants to download 90K+ headers. Trying to fold newsletter and get caught up with two days worth of posts here.

Thank Heavens I'm a woman and multi-tasking comes naturally. (Sorry guys, no disrespect meant.)
