Innovative Bead Show in Edison, NJ - anyone from rcb going?

Just thought I'd ask if any rcb'ers are going up to Edison, NJ for the Innovative Bead Show? I'll be there (buying) tomorrow. Actually, given my budget lately, I may be mostly looking, lol.

I'm not going, but I almost did. I was going to sign up for this show because it is within the range that I'm willing to go, but if I did, I'd be doing shows three weekends in a row. Please tell me how it is, though. I may do shows there in the future. Have fun!

It was fun, a smaller show - three rooms, one of which was VERY small, only 4 dealers. Mostly gemstone beads and pearls, two Bali silver dealers. Lots of Czech glass. Some dichroic glass. A long wait at the dealer who sold silver by the gram. The other one had everything priced, they were not as busy however. I only saw 3 lampwork artists with their own beads. There was some chinese lampwork, not a lot of it. Some Murano glass. I didn't buy much - two strands of fancy jasper twists, one of teal ab long Chinese crystals, some individual Jade beads in 8mm and 12 mm rounds and some small Jade rings to use for dangle earrings, some coral, 2 dozen 4mm fire opal bicones. My husband was in the train show next door. I actually finished shopping before he did, and came home with $$ for a change. I noticed most gemstone beads were well priced for the quality, but there were very few unusual beads. It was mostly a show for the novice beader - lots of gemstone rounds and special deals, findings, etc .People seemed to really be careful about spending, I noticed a lot of people comparing prices. It was crowded, but not so much so that you couldn't get around. If you do the show, you will need to bring your own food. I think they only had snacks and nowhere to eat. Parking is also an issue since there were three shows - beads, trains and a computer show going on at the same time. Part of the parking lot was taken up by tractor trailers. I was glad we went early, but we still had to park quite a distance from the entrance. Email me off list if you have any questions. (Beadseeker AT aol dot com) Patti
