a member of the rock/gem club just called me. the local JC is having a class this summer.

4 hours/day, 3 days/week in 'jewelry making' in lots of different mediums/forms

sorry - junior college! i'm going to try to borrow the fees from my son, but they supposedly teach some of EVERYTHING. PMC, silversmithing, and on and on.

You know, I've been seeing beaders, but maybe I should have more contact with some of the rock hounds here. Though of course most of those or prospecting for gold or gems.

I love natural stones and would love to know more ways to use them. We want reports!

Meanwhile I see there will be some summer classes in metalsmithing. Two different teachers will be giving 2 week-end classes, begin, intermed, advanced. Maybe I could take the beginning class from each of them.

certainly - i had no idea anyone here would want to know. i started out working with stones [until Tink corrupted me]. now i use both.

sounds good to me! mine is six weeks [total of 72 hours!!!!!]

between my mom and DS [he is SO sweet] the fees are covered and i have application in hand. classes start June 7. you have NO idea how 'wired' up i am about this!
