HELP! I have the Husqvarna Viking Rose machine w/Embroidery unit. I just bought the 4D reader / writer kit. What do I need to use the reader/writer kit? I have never used the embroidery feature on my machine so I don't know anything.



Please tell me everything I need to use the reader/writer kit. What software do I need? And I saw some posts about a dongle...do I need that? Remember that I know NOTHING so please be very specific.

Your Viking dealer should be able to assist you; which will be more of a help than reading e-mails to find the answers. Emily

I was in the same boat with the 3D R/W a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, you can't use the more up-to -date hardware without first installing the software, which is completely separate.

I had to buy the 3D software, which was a big unexpected expense, and now it's unsupported by Husqvarna! If I were you, I would find out if the 4D R/W will work with the 5D software, and if so buy that, so at least it will work when they cease to support 4D!
