Janome 10001

Is this a good machine, to be used mostly for sewing as I use Brother for embroidery Liz

G'day Liz

I really like this machine for anything......dressmaking 'or' embroidery, the latter is only a touch of the screen to change from sewing to embroidery with NO embroidery attachment to worry about.

I also have a Janome 9500, which is also a combo machine, but with a few less bells 'n whistles and you can't pick which machine produced either the sewing or embroidery, so for me it's which one is closest when I'm about to start a new project....sometimes both are doing embroidery at the one time, and other times I'm sewing on one while the other is doing embroidery.

If you only need a sewing machine, why not consider the Janome 6600P? you are not paying for the embroidery mode and it's a real workhorse, although I don't have one, this was my preferred second machine until I found the 9500 for such a good price.

Either way you wouldn't go wrong...imho!! But then I'm a huge fan of Janome machines....they make machines for many of the other companies these days.

Bronwyn ;-)
