need collage gift idea please

I don't think a collage is a good idea for someone going to college.

How about a set of towels with her college's crest or mascot?

Tote bags are always useful - various sizes to hold everything from a book and a pen to a load from the grocery. Laundry bags are also sometimes very welcome -- with the name embroidered, plus other decoration, mottos, etc.

As was mentioned, tote bags and laundry bags are always very useful and much needed. Embroidering initials or names on sets of towels and wash clothes is a good idea, especially if she will be living in a dorm. One thing that I made my son and then was requested by several of his friends, both male and female, was a shoe bag that will hang on the door or wall. Space is at a premium on the dorm rooms (Their 2 person dorm rooms had three drawers and a

30" wide closet per occupant.) and these are great for stashing combs, brushes, cosmetics, lotions, soaps, shaving stuff, hair products and what have yews (even shoes!) that tend to get all jumbled because they have no home. I made the first one but the rest I bought in a plain cloth, sewed a sleeve along the top to slide the bar of a slacks hanger so it would hang on a hook (some come with a hanger already in them) on the wall or door and then just did some appropriate identifying embellishments on it with my machine. Big hit. A colorful fleece blanket with their name or a design embroidered on it. A nice set of padded hangers might be appreciated, keeps the slippery stuff from hitting the floor. The type of hanger that holds multiples of slacks or shirts would good too.
