Does anybody know how important it is that high firing paints be compatable with particular glass? It seems to me that incompatable COEs could cause the paint to crack and flake. TIA

Thompson Enamel believes it is important enough that they market different enamels for different glasses and metals. You are certainly welcome to buy one type and do tests to see if the "paint" flakes off other types on cooling.
It's more important that the paint is matched for the heat range. If you are firing at the glass anealing point the paint must be not burn out at a lower temp.
