2 yarn questions

Has any one ever ordered from KnitPicks yarn before? I saw their ad near the top of my digest, so I checked it out, and the prices seem very reasonable. Anyone have any input?

Which leads to my next question, I was checking out their lace weight alpaca, and found one that perfectly matches some freshwater pearls I have. I've never worked with lace weight, so I was wondering if it was narrow enough to thread the pearls on.

BTW- Kudos to Mirjam for being recognized on my Crochet Pattern a Day calendar for her inspiration for the Mobius Scarf/Shawl! I was thinking this might look beautiful in the alpaca with pearls along the edge. (I'm not very keen on mohair. It has to be blended.)

I have ordered many of their yarns - their service is quite quick, free shipping over $30, good prices on the books, great prices on the yarns. I have most of the color cards. I have heard from some people that their wool yarn can tend to felt but I haven't washed it so it wasn't a problem. I like the Merino Style a lot, and the Elegance is lovely and soft.

I don't think so. I also do beading and pearl holes are extremely tiny. You could try asking them if they'd send you a short strand to try?

I just ordered from them for the first time recently. I bought their Wool of the Andes in worsted weight for a poncho. Their service is great, ordered on Friday, had the wool on Wednesday. The wool is very nice, soft (not even remotely itchy) and the color is so deep and beautiful.
