One question - is mirror work spelled shisha, rather than sisha?

I found both spellings - so I tossed a coin.

Good quiz. Though since I rarely use DMC - I had to guess - correctly - tee hee.

But, Sisha, or shisha work is well known for being done by gypsies in India, and in the state of Rajasthan. I have a lot of embroidered pieces that I brought back with me which have the mirror work - in a variety of shapes.

Ah, I had to laugh - just thought about this. The knot question. In the "Gayle" piece by Orna Willis - we had our last class on Sunday morning (except the crew wants one more session) and I did a nice diagram for them of French knots & Colonial knots - with the how to part. Then demonstrated colonials about 5 times. The consensus was the colonial is much more difficult to do - somehow they had problems with holding the figure 8 of the thread, but the french knots they all did swimmingly - go figure.

I never found either particular hard to do, just hard to do perfectly 100 times.
