Biscournus

I haven't yet but I printed the instructions and they are calling to me.

I'm holding off because I have no clue what I would do with it after it's done. I doubt I would actually want to stick a pin into it.

I think they are cute. I've got a couple of little ones that I might make into fobs.

I've made a couple of them. My first one is on my multiply site. I didn't have a true pattern so I used a Sweetheart Tree Pattern & changed some colors. Their patterns tend to be perfect in size.

I had no guilt sticking a needle in mine. It's one of the handiest tools I currently have.

Now I'm doing some experimenting to use them in other ways. Will let you know how it goes.

They've kind of been the rage the last several months. Seems most of the sampler type designers, and others have all done one. Dinky Dyes put one out at Nashville, Sweetheart Tree did 2 Biscornu kits about a month agao - they're very lovely. And there are lots of them out there - some evne have little feet on them. Most that I've seen don't have a huge amount of stitching on them, but are still lovely and fun to do. There are a couple of ways to finish them - even putting a button in the middle which you tack through to the underneath to kind of pull the shape in.

I received one in an exchange where a full Rhodes stitch was done in the middle of both the front and back and the center was pulled in around the square. Very attractive!

That sounds really nice. It's a pretty cute little stitchy knick-knack to have around, for the most part they don't take too much time to do, if you can deal with all the whip stitching, or cheat and run it up on the machine. I like being able to use little things like that - even pretty. As if I ever sit in the living room and stitch with company around - then I'd have the "pretty tools"....tee hee.
