Arrivederci, ladies...

I have spent close to two weeks trying to tie up this HSing conversation and it keeps dragging on. I don't want to contribute any further to the degradation in signal-to-noise ratio on your NG, and I don't seem to be able to extricate myself from the topic, so can we just continue via email if you feel it's necessary?

In the meantime, I'm dropping this NG off my news server so I'm not tempted to come back and follow it more and not only disrupt your NG more but also use up time that I need to spend elsewhere at this point (I just spent $500 on our dog in this past week and since I don't do credit, I am going to have to work some extra hours for the next few weeks to replenish my emergency fund -- thankfully, she just has severe degenerative arthritis and that is solved by taking another prescription medication and she doesn't need surgery or anything),

If you want to speak unkindly about me or anything I have said behind my back, please be my guest. It won't be the first time, it undoubtedly won't be the last time, and I can handle it.

Happy stitching, and may the Almighty (or your preferred higher power or whoever/whatever if the concept of an Almighty offends you) bless you all and grant you peace, joy, contentment, and love.

I think we already told her that it was fine to have an OT discussion. Didn't she mention, also, that she was not interested in needlework of the embroidery type, perhaps only sewing variety ?

Anyway, she did omit marking this thread OT and that is what it is! If she thinks she has gone home, taking the ball with her and that we will now crumble, she should think again.

Aw, come on guys! I think someone from a homeschool group referred her over here because of my asking about tips for good home school websites. That was the thread she was referring to. I kind of feel it's my fault that I inadvertently stirred up a problem :( Kim

You didn't affect anything negatively at all. It has been an interesting and informative discussion. I certainly learned a lot. :-) Dianne

What problem ?? It was an engaging and interesting discussion from which I learned a lot. Ruby

The 'problem' seemed to only rest with her - nobody said there should not be a homeschooling thread, many told her to go right ahead so I fail to understand her last post.

Oh well, tough, here's an onion to make it worth your while lol

Sorry you feel that way. It was an engaging and interesting discussion which spawned side messages threads on interesting and timely topics such as how teachers are trained etc. many of us on this group agree to disagree on some points of a topic and agree on others which does not mean we do not like or respect each other. We are a diverse group nationally, socially, culturally, and religiously with a common bond of needle arts . This ng allows us the opportunity to explore differing points of view and learn more about the larger world outside our own homes and the people in it. I do not expect everyone here to agree with everyone of my opinions, why would I. And if they did how dull, I could talk to myself in a mirror if all I wanted was my own opinions reflected back at me. Listening to the opinions of others makes me take a closer look at my own, shows me a side to an issue sometimes that I may not have considered. I hope there will never come a time in this world when we all agree an everything, that would be like a garden with only one kind of flower. And with my luck that would be red carnations. LOL! Ruby

Actually your messages thread has evolved as most do and in this instance spawned some very though provoking discussions for example " the nature of freedom" etc. I hope you stick around. ruby

Me too. But I can understand your frustration. Judy

The only thing I don't understand, having purposely avoided *that* thread completely, is why she started a new thread to say goodbye!

Anybody who knew what she was referring to was reading that one, and now I feel a tiny bit annoyed by being tricked (so to speak) into reading something that was part of the thread I was avoiding.

I also feel a tiny bit annoyed by life at the moment, so it could just be that too!

It was a thread that I hadn`t had any interest in, either, so I hadn`t a clue what she was on about! Obviously she was new to newsgroups and just didn`t understand the niceties.

How to win friends, hey?

Sorry you`re "annoyed by life" at the moment. Sh*t happens, as they say, and as I know too darned well this past few months! ;-))

Read it again, Pat. Melinda clearly indicated the conversation to which she was referring. HS means Home-Schooling.

Me too! This has been the year from h*** so far. I guess it could be worse, but I know the really bad stuff is just around the corner :(

Thank goodness my DH, and kids are okay...

HS = Homeschool or at least that's how I read it.

That it does! And overall life is good, my kids totally kicked butt in school this year, dh's job is safe for a while yet, and I haven't been getting as many migraines since starting on the pill. It's probably just the adjustment to new hormones that has me a bit out of sorts, but this too shall pass.

I did solve my fabric issues, and expect the replacement fabric in the mail soon, so can start the project I have been waiting to do. I'll be able to sleep in a bit once school ends on the 17th....

Things are actually looking up!
