I was thinking that might be payback for some of the UK questions that I nearly always get wrong. Unless, of course, I have a lucky guess !!! lol

I got 10 out of 10, (unlike the daily quiz where I only got 9 out of 15 :) )

I remember Rosey Grier, and articles on his work. I also loved the spelling of some of your options - cruelwork!

I'm working on a harder quiz.

Some people didn't get the joke/pun

Loved the quiz and the puns and all of it! Of course, I got 10/10 so I *have* to love it!

Neither do I, but I knew that one. I'm sure it's been mentioned on rctn before.

I actually have one of Rosie Grier's needlepoint books that has been autographed! I'm not sure I care for all of the burnt orange, harvest gold, and avocado green colors he used in the design models but it *IS* an old book :-))). CiaoMeow >^;;^<

It's when you cut things to little pieces and sew them back together again and call it art.

If you lived here, I could answer that question!

My friend was married to a retired contractor. The orange/gold/avocado house had been on the market forEVER by the time they saw it. Whereas everyone else saw only the colors and turned tail, her DH saw the bones of the house and decreed it "a really nice place".

They made a low-ball offer, and set to work. The first Friday they had access to the place, DH and DS (also a contractor) took the day off work, ripped out the kitchen, and brought in new white appliances/cupboards/countertops. By Sunday night, she was applying the white, Colonial blue and dusty rose tiles to the walls and hanging the blue curtains, and the kitchen looked NOTHING like it had Friday morning.

The next Friday, the pumpkin carpet in the living/dining area came up, and by Sunday night, those rooms, too were white/blue/rose.

The next Friday, it was the master bed/bath that turned white.

A couple months later, her DH ran into an assessor pal, and invited him home for a look-see. Just the change in color scheme -- they hadn't done any major renovations -- he guesstimated they could sell the place for twice what they'd paid.

She showed the photos around work and most of the gals had to look really hard to fathom that this was the exact same room, the only thing that was changed was the color scheme.
