Actually....because of the fire and insurance claims, he did find out what linen cost! LOL

LOL! Definitely! I hear crossing the Canadian border w/stash is sure to get Customs angry.
(Now, in all seriousness, don't anyone get upset. The folks on the Canadian side of the border were lovely when we crossed. The US folks... well, they didn't make exporting our car easy.)
Exactly. DH likes his toys - camera lenses, computers, fountain pens. Anytime he says ANYTHING about what I'm spending, I remind him that my "habits" are way less expensive (at least on a per item basis - LOL). Being the primary breadwinner (until this summer anyway) didn't hurt my case at all.
I think your DH is great! (I'll bet your DH is too Elizabeth AKA LizardGumbo).

Yeah, compared to those $500 tents and four backpacks and $70 sleeping pads (just got a lecture about that one - I'm taking it to use on a GS campout and DH doesn't want the girls anywhere near it), the special clothes, dried food, sleeping bags - I'm positively cheap! AND mine gets used on an almost *daily* basis :)
