CATS festival Las Vegas

WOOHOOO!!!!!!!!!!

I got my confirmation letter the other day and got all the classes I signed up for! :):):):):):):)

All my activities are on Friday:

Needle Tatting for Beginners Christmas Virtues and last but not least, the Stitching Circle Dinner Party

Since I'm there with DH and another couple, I felt I couldn't do more than one day's worth of activities. But I'm taking advantage of the

*whole* day and will be there from 8am to 9pm. :)

I will also have plenty of time between classes for the shopping mart and Stitcher's Lounge. Anyone else get theirs yet?

You guys just *can't* imagine how pumped I am about this! :)

Yep -- I got mine :-). I will be taking Phyllis Maurer's Swedish Tvistsom on Thursday and Lorri Birmingham's 3D Box & Fob on Friday. DH & I will be arriving on Wednesday and leaving on Sunday and the only thing planned are the wo classes. I plan to spend a lot of time in the Stitcher's Lounge while DH gambles. He has MUCH better luck than MOI so I don't gamble much at all -- LOL! So -- who besides Joan and MOI are going to be there for the Festivities? We will be staying at the Riviera so that makes things a LOT easier :-)! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

It seems as if Fred's wonderful and patient wife must have gone shopping, and Fred is making the most of unexpected computer time!! Seriously, though, Fred I do hope you are feeling much better!!

I'm looking forward to seeing you again, Tia Mary - thanks for signing up for the Tvistsom - I think you will really enjoy the versatility of it. That technique is NOWHERE near as difficult as the Nyz you did last year.

Will you be wearing your hat again this year, so I can recognize you in the Stitchers Lounge?

Thanks for the kind words. My computer time has been increased to an hour a day, plus whatever I can sneak. LOL Pain killers for the pain in my back burnt a hole in my gut so after some stern advice from the hospital I now have a choice, walk around in a daze from the backpain or lose of blood.

I know a couple people who were told to wash down their pills with Maalox to avoid that problem.

Do you have ThermaCare in Canada, or should I send you some? They really do help with pain when you can't take a pain killer. So does a long hot bath.

HMMM -- hadn't thought about the hat! I'll be wearing a hat -- just not sure *which* hat! When I go to the N'ville CATS, I drive so there's no problem schlepping The Hat. Going to Vegas requires flying (on an airplane, NOT a broom!). This throws a bit of a curve ball into the whole Hat thing! I'll have to think on it -- I might just have to wear my "stuff it in the side of the suitcase" Hawaii hat! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

I think the hat should be worn on the plane. Ladies always used to wear hats when traveling. Of course they also worn gloves, pantyhose and heels. Some etiquette traditions died a very deserved death. Tennis shoes, either jeans or sweatpants and a comfortable shirt make traveling so much more comfortable. Of course with the change in clothing came a change in the way fellow travelers act/treat each other. I guess you have to take the good with the bad.

But I still think you should wear the hat. Think of the conversations you can have or will cause.

Anne -- DEAR -- do you happen to remember just WHAT that hat looks like -- LOLOL? If I wear that hat on the plane, there's a good chance the pilot will be unable to operate the vehicle LOL! Remember, it's Screaming PURPLE faux fur with a green & purple feather boa wrapped around the crown and dangling down the back. Just to add a bit of interest, the boa is secured with a purple, green & gold sparkly Mardi Gras pin! The Hawaii Travel Hat is just plain white but it does boast a spectacularly lovely hat band of bright purple, pink, lilac & fuchsia "silk" flowers with lots of greenery. HMMM -- I'll just have to wait and see which hat I wear but WEAR ONE I must :-)! CiaoMeow >^;;^<
