I am looking for crewel designs or kits for round, decorative pillows. Specifically, I am seeking those designs that show (for example) rabbits end-to-end in a circle forming the border of the pillow with a related design inside the circle of rabbits (mice etc..) Any known manufacturers or retailers would be most appreciated.

I work in an LNS which carries crewel kits - if you want to contact us - you can check the website at

(anything else we need to do not on RCTN).
But, the companies which do crewel kits for the most part are:
Custom House The Crewel Work Company (from the UK) Crewel & Unusual (the designer also has a shop in the midwest IIRC)
I'd try google and search, you'll find some things.
Ellice in Virginia
I couldn't find a website for Crewel and Unusual - any help?
Also - how about crewel that's NOT Jacobean or flowers?
Linda
Try here for some lovely kits, both modern and Jacobean:

Crewel and Unusual had some lovely, not traditional at all designs. The designer is Patricia Hook, IIRC. But, that said, we've been trying to order more from her for 6 months, and cannot get a response by any method - phone, voice-mail, e-mail, snail mail. But, she does own a shop. We sold out of the kits very quickly. IIRC, I even sent one to Cheryl????? What is nice with her stuff is that the twill included isn't overly heavy, and she kits with Impressions (silk/wool from Caron) - totally non-traditional, but very nice. Maybe she'll be at TNNA in June and we can finally get some more stock!
Custom House has some non-Jacobean, but, mostly flowers or fruit, kind of kitchen decorations.
I totally forgot about Tanya Berlin, who has gorgeous stuff - I think Dianne put up a link to her.
Also, we have in the shop some crewel kits from Tapis-Tree - they are very non-traditional, kind of funky designs.

's big show is in June, and while I'm not showing anything, the shopowner and I are attending and buying, and I'm sure we'll be looking for somecrewel (besides all the Crewel Work Co. stuff). We're one of the few shopsaround here that actually stocks a bunch of it, so..... Good luck, Linda.
