Current Project

It's multiples of the same thing...I'm making a set of ornaments with a little bird in a Santa hat for a few good friends. We have an annual girls' reunion weekend getaway in November, and this year I'm giving them each "the bird", LOL!

It's a Valerie Pfeiffer design from one of the British Cross stitch magazines. Though small, each seems to take forever because the shading is exquisite...ten stitches each of 20 colors, it feels like. I'm constantly changing colors.

I have been working all summer on a little Dimensions kit ---"it is done on light green aida and has the word Welcome and little flip flops all around the outside. It is supposed to be a gift for a friend who let us stay at her cottage at the end of June....maybe she will get it by christmas!

After driving myself nuts which wasn't a loooooooong trip practising different beaded edges and fringes, I'm working on Lynn Payette's Spring Faerie, a class I took at Share-A-Stitch. I'm gonna call her the Invisible Couchzilla because so many of the threads aren't stitched; they're couched with (&*^% invisible thread.

Oooh. That sounds pretty. Hope you post a photo when you finish.

Invisible thread - I love it when I'm finished. I hate working with it.

MLI's "Celtic Banner" here. It is on my floor stand as I want something outstanding on my walls that I don't have to scrimp for finishing costs. It is also my second attempt at the project as my DS did some damage on the first that could not be salvaged. Don't worry, DS still lives...

I've got this the Celtic Banner in my stash, too. Some one entered it in the Woodlawn Show in 2006. I thought it was so lovely. Much better than the picture.

Have you already told what exactly DH did?

Actually, "Celtic Banner" (version 1) fell at the hands of my son. He was only a toddler at the time, and was trying to help Mommy with the project (i.e. with scissors). He was too young to realize what he did, and I have a record of losing 1 project per child. My DSO has been trained enough to know symptoms of my addiction and immediately asked: "Can it be saved?" I knew it was a goner. Thankfully, I only had about

25% progress done by that time. Now, I have since re-started on a fresh piece of fabby and my children are old enough to know: Don't touch Mom's stitching stuff or suffer the consequences!

- it is all French and colonial knots - but it is a great project for travelling on the train to work. MargW

I am currently working on Debbie Englebright's "Teacup Mouse". It's a mouse sleeping in a teacup and waiting for Santa...has his stocking hanging on the handle. I am doing it for my DD, and know she will love it. Have several things going but stopped them when I started this one...it is only 5x7 and is going pretty fast...or was, until I got tied up with moving...will resume next week, when move is over.

Other than two purse projects (both of which are languishing), my current, sort of active project is a Candamar crewel and candlewick pillow. I can see it enough to make little tiny stitches at least and don't have to worry about miscounting.

Nothing has changed much here, lol... name just one, like that'll happen with some of these stitchers with the flying keyboard fingers...

Hello to all my old friends, I can't believe you are still here!

I am working on Just Nan's Baby Garden, I think you can guess why.

Looking forward to a March birth, my very first grandkid, woohoo!

Richard! Welcome back!

Someone had asked me about your well-being a few months back, and I had nothing to tell them.
