I need to make another wedding quilt!

My daughter is engaged! I just found out on Monday. He is such a great guy and my DGS absolutely adores him - and my soon-to-be SIL adores him right back!

They'd like an October wedding so they can enjoy the autumn colors. His parents have a 300 acre farm with a large pond which will probably be the ceremony site. I'm still in a dream state. Those who know the story know what a long hard road we have been on for the past 5 years. Her luck definitely changed for the better when she became a mom. It's been a tough ride for her as a single mom, but God apparently was preparing her for something really special. He was worth the wait and he is lucky to get them both.

You'll have to excuse me now, I have a quilt to plan!

What wonderful happy news. So glad for you and them, Alice. One of our daughters waited until she was the tender age of 42 before the right guy came along. (If we'd know who he was, DH and I would have stalked him until he came around.) Actually, Alice, you have two quilts to plan. You don't want that wonderful grandson to be left out of the quilt gifting do you? Happy Polly

I'm so very pleased to hear about this, Alice. I hope they will have a wonderful life together.

Didn't seem possible in the dark of those years ago. Those waits are hard, but worth it. You've both done so well. (I include you because you've been such a great support to your DD). . In message , AliceW writes

Mazel Tov to all! So, whatcha planning? How about Ozark Maple Leaf? That is a very cool tessellating pattern and would be lovely for colors of Autumn, so it would be a souvenir of the happy wedding celebrations.

Oh, he already has 3 quilts from Nana and a blue one with sailboats promised when he sleeps in his big boy bed. Can't get him out of his crib for some reason. Mom doesn't consider it a big deal so when he's ready, he'll do it. And then he'll remind me of his quilt! What memory that kid has!

What a great idea! She'd like the tessellating pattern and the colors would be memories of the wedding! Perfect!

It's been worth the wait and she was well worth the effort! She's in for a tough couple of months since I think she will try to sell her house so they can consolidate midway between jobs and families. Lots of decisions to make between now and then but I am thinking by the end of year they will be nesting comfortably.
