Good news - I need another baby quilt!

I forgot to tell everyone that I just found out that I am going to be a Nana once again (this will be #3)! Instead of a wedding for my daughter, there will be a baby shower instead! Of course she and her intended were as surprised as I was but oh, well, these things happen! Baby is due August 5 - one day after my grandson's fifth birthday. The wedding is still on of course, but I'm not sure of the date at this point. They need to decide if her insurance will cover her if she is married. If not, they will most likely wait until after he or she arrives. Will know if the quilt needs to be pink or blue on the 19th. My grandson is absolutely delighted about having a brother or sister and he is actually the one who spilled the beans. My daughter was waiting until all of her tests were done (she's 37) before telling us. He kept telling me things about the baby in mommy's tummy and I kept telling him there was no baby in mommy's tummy. Then he told me there were pictures! That did it for me. She then fessed up, but indicated that all the test results were normal. She did keep all the big ticket items from my DGS and has lots of clothes if it's a boy. I will need to do "some" shopping if it's a girl! Maybe my prayers for a quilter in this family will finally be answered!

Actually, my little guy does like to sew on my Pfaff. He calls it "foot sewing" since it uses a foot pedal. That's different from "hand sewing" he says. Two quilters in the family???? Could it possibly be?????

My oldest son was a member of our quilt guild for several years. He made a lovely quilt that got a grand champion in the fair.

He loved a sewing class because he was the only boy (he was 12). The girls paid a lot of attention to him and he was in 7th heaven.

You could use neutral colors like oranges, yellows and greens for you little darling. That way you wouldn't have to wait and it would be available for whatever is born. Or you could do it in natural colors that don't let the harsh inks and dyes next to baby's skin.

Big congrats, Nana!

Those are wonderful suggestions! I love the neutrals idea! Thanks. We will know on the 19th but I can start to work on something now. I know she wants at least one minkee!
