This is the year of the weddings. Our youngest son called Saturday to tell us that he had proposed to his girlfriend and she had accepted. They haven't set a date but don't want to wait too long. Her parents live out of the Chicago area but she has lived her for ten years. Don't know where they will be married. They are talking a "small family wedding" but my son who was married in February had said the same thing when they first became engaged.
The engagement wasn't a total surprise as you could see the sparkle in their eyes. They have been dating a year. Two weeks ago he emailed asking what I thought of her. Of course I gave a good review.
The bonus of this union is that she is a quilter! She and I already have a date planned to see the Rosemont quilt show together along with her sister. She and her sister go every year. It is going to be hard not to show favoritism toward this new daughter-in-law.
