Another Bracelet-Mother's Day Present

I made this bracelet from a kit I bought from Foxden Designs. I know, I know, many of you don't like kits. I do and am glad I bought this one. I learned a lot from doing it, it was a lot of fun and now I want one too! I hope my mother-in-law likes it.

Take a look:

it's very pretty! But next time you don't need a kit, right? You can just go get some beads you like and whip it right up! LOL!

It's even better on the wrist, almost looks like a tennis bracelet. It's a very nice pattern.

That is really, really pretty! Kinda bums me out that I won't get anything for Mother's day. (is that selfish? I keep telling myself that the money is putter used elsewhere, but maaaaaaaaaaan..I got two kids..where's my bling bling??lol) Your MIL should adore this bracelet, Margie:)

Thanks Candace. I'm sorry you won't be getting anything material but I do hope you do get a phone call. Make that two! :=)

I thought about it after posting that, and I had a change of heart about it. My kids are reasonably healthy, and safe...what more could I ask for? If I get a call from the 5 yr old, his butt is gonna be busted for using the phone lol...and if the 14 month old calls...OMG where's Guiness????? hehehehe

It just dawned on me that you might have children at home, in that case I hope you get lots of sloppy kisses and big hugs. :=)

I don't use kits because I have a problem following directions for anything but the most basic techniques. I almost never know how something is going to turn out beforehand, and I change my mind several times during the creation of any item. Fortunately, I have *millions and millions* of dollars worth of beads in my dining room (according to Bob), so I can usually find something that will complete my project without a trip to the store.

BTW, your bracelet is lovely. It looks like embellished sculptural right angle weave. Is it?

Why don't you get presents? Even if money is a problem, you can give lots of wonderful gifts for nothing. One particular year, we gave both grandmothers $0.99 tote bags with DD's baby footprints on them and a transfer of a picture of the baby with the appropriate grandmother. Cost: $0.99 apiece.

DD writes me poems each year, and I treasure them. She can get me lots of bling-bling when she's grown up. :-)

Dh helped older ds make me a card last year..I have it hanging on my bedroom wall. I suppose I'm just realising all the little "would be nice to have" moments from the past three years. I've been married since May 5th, 2001, and in the time since then, we've exchanged no anniversary presents, and the one birthday/christmas present anyone got had to be returned for damage and couldn't be replaced. It's really more of a "I wish I could have done more" sort of thing. I do try my best (as does Dh) to make sure special days are special in some way...cooking a special meal, or taking a picnic out to a park, but hey, we're human....and it's nice to "open" a gift once in a while, too. :) It all goes back to the financial troubles we've experienced. Besides, we'd much rather spend what little we did have on the kiddies :) So I'm gonna hop outta da pity pool and be grateful for what i have...two great kids and a wonderful husband. Btw, sorry to go off on my own tangent in this thread....I Am a rambler! lol
