Bracelet Exchange

Okay guys, since I've had some interest I am hosting a bracelet exchange.

You can make a bracelet out of any material and any design. The sky is the limit.

What I need from you: Name Address email

Let's give it a week to get all the names in then I'll send your exchange pal to you. I'll do a random drawing of the names. Complete and send the bracelet by March 26th. That should give everyone enough time to put a bracelet together, etc.

Email me at sklopman at cox-internet dot com with your information.

You'll need wrist sizes, too. ~~ Sooz

OH!! OH!!! Count me in!

Clarification question: Are we making the bacelet first, and then giving it to whomever we get as our recipient, or are we getting our recipient's name/contact information and then making a bracelet in colors/style of their choosing?

We are getting the recipients name and their bracelet size then start making them. This is a bracelet of your choice and colors.

I forgot bracelet sizes when I did the original post.

Maybe you could act as intermediary if we had any questions for the recipient?

I'll have to pass this time around. I've been swamped lately! But have fun, everyone! :)

Me too. I'm afraid I'd have trouble meeting the deadline.

I'd love to do this, just not yet as I don't have a full time job at the moment!

Maybe in a few months. In fact, defiantly in a few months. The only thing I have to ask is, what would everyone be expecting? Lots of lampwork beads? Loom pieces? I know mine would probably be chain based which people might not appreciate as much.

Charlie, and everyone else, there's a list called Beaders' Preferences on the Yahoo group called Beadershaven. This is a Yahoo group we created so we could show our photos and share files and such......

The Beaders' Preferences file has info on what people here prefer -- their color choices, their beading faves, etc. Even their favorite snack foods! You can go there and see what a person's wrist size is, what their favorite colors are, and which beads they love most. Then you can make the bracelet with confidence that your target will like it, and wear it.

Here's the link: Files page, with Beaders' Preferences (scroll down just a bit):

One thing you have to realize -- it's the thought that counts. And many people prefer chain-based items to wear. You need to just do a bit of research on your target person, that's all. :-)

So if you check out the target, their favorite colors and styles, and keep their interests in mind, you will be able to easily come up with a piece they will like. ~~ Sooz

I don't know where you get that idea, Charlie. I for one (and i know several more people who agree), like bracelets of all kinds. As long as it's pretty and/or made for me, I'll wear it. I do break out from base metals, but it seems that copper and silver (as long as the parts that touch my skin are coated with something) are fine, and gold is always ok. I like chain bracelets....

I do understand the time constraints...normally i'd not be able to do this, but a bracelet is something I can work up rather quickly, so it works for me.

Charlie, you have to value your work, or no one else will. :-) ~~ Sooz

I make bracelets once in a long while and very seldom wear one, so I'll pass.

Oooh, I do, I love it! Other than my mum, I'm it's biggest advert! I just get the feel that most people in this group are more into beautiful glass than the steely cold chain maille look!

Tee hee!

Actually, it's the things that are different that are most fun. Something we wouldn't make ourselves.
