Busy with Current Project

Jun 18, 2005 11 Replies

Hey, everyone! Have been *trying* to pop in & check out a few posts every day (just read about the gathering in LR), but know I'm woefuflly behind. Have I missed any recent updates on Jessie?

My current album is a new challenge for me: 8.5x5.5 instead of my usual

8.5x11. Harder to be creative in so much less space! (Half of my usual.) Similar to you usual 12x12 scrappers doing an 8x8 album, I'd think.

Anyway, I've got about 40 pages done. Can't do more than 100 per album (have to have 2 done by the beginning of July but will eventually have

3 copies) since the sheet protectors I ordered ended up coming in packages of 50 instead of 100 like the regular size. :::sigh:::

Finally got the first 40 pages printed yesterday (one set) & will have to correct a few off them. Started putting them into the sheet protectors (am setting/printing them 4 on a 11x17 page, then cutting to

8.5x5.5) only to find that the sheet protectors will actually it a size more like 8.5x5.75, so there's an extra quarter inch which will allow the pages to slide around inside. :-( I could make the pages a quarter inch wider, but then I'd only get 2 per 11x17 sheet, which doubles the amount of supplies needed.

The best laid plans . . . :::sigh:::

Wishing everyone a productive &/or restful weekend, whichever you desire!

Sounds like you are one busy scrapper right now Alicia. You could always cut cardstock to fit and mount the pages 2 pages to a sheet of cardstock.

Yep. Tho procrastination is winning this weekend.

Thanks for the suggestion. Had thought changing my setup from 4 per

11x17 page to 2, but that's a lot of wasted paper. And, while adding the cardstock is a good idea, I'm not sure I want to carry the extra weight (for 2 sets) across country (running out of time to mail, since I actually need to finish first ). Each album will have close to 50 sheet protectors, & not sure I'd have the time to modify the resulting 100 sets of pages. Darn them! Why couldn't they have made them a "logical" (in my mind, anyway ) size of 8.5x11.5 (half a standard sheet of paper).

Hey out there Alicia!!! I wondered how you have been doing on that new project you had planned!!

As for the page sizes. If you cut them a bit small, take a matching or contrasting peice of cardstock and mount your trimmed page on it like a mat then put i in the album protectors. You could do all of the pages that way in various hues of say blue to compliment the whole theme or book and it would show that you had to do "more" persoanlble work!!!

Good luck, I hope it turns out the way you want.

Alicia, Looks like you've been a BUSY lady! Sounds like you're make progress though. Hope you've had some more progress.

Thanks for the good thoughts, Teresa & Kenda. Despite being sick for 3 days, I'm up to 74 pages done (including the cover & "credits"). Am in the home stretch (not sure exactly how many pages I'll end up with, but the bulk of them are done). Now, to finish those pages, print all of them, make any corrections, reprint, cut & end up with 2 complete copies before the end of next week. (Whaddya mean I have to go to work, too? )

Alicia

Must've miscounted earlier. Am up to 78 pages (did 6 tonight).

Alicia

Thanks, Teresa.

It ended up as 92 pages plus cover & "credits". I need to correct 2 pages (that I know of ). When I print those, one copy will be done. Woo hoo! Then I have to print about half the pages for the second copy. WIll do my copy when I get back from my trip (& after I show it to my dad & the gal who has owned my grandparents' house since '65). They'll no doubt find more errors (plus, there are a couple off people I can't identify).

Almost there!

Alicia

Sounds like you are about done Alicia. You did those pages pretty quick. WTG!!

Thanks, Teresa. The one advantage of the smaller format; the pages take less time. I think I got everything printed today. Now I just have to get them back into the correct order & make sure I have them all. The binders & sheet protectors are on the other coast, so can't put them together until I get there.

Now to get back to cleaning & packing. :::pout:::
