I've been churning out pages lately (I'll scan them soon to share) and have run into some issues with my page protectors.
Evidently not all 12 x 12 3-post top-load page protectors are equal.
My mother gave me a nice album for Christmas that I think she got at a WalMart where she lives. I don't shop at WalMart; I prefer our Michael's and another LSS we are lucky enough to have. I started making pages and putting them into my new album.
I had some 12 x 12 top-load protectors left from another project. I found that one package was a Michael's knock-off of the Pioneer brand. It was printed similarly, and said it fit Pioneer, but wasn't Pioneer. The width would not accommodate a 12 inch page! Pages had to be trimmed to 11 5/8 inch. If you know about that restriction ahead of time you can alter your design, but taking 3/8 inch off an already-constructed page can wreak it. So I won't be fooled by those anymore.
The Pioneer page protectors seemed fine until I screwed the spine together on the WalMart album. The page protectors that came with the album have a wider hinge than the Pioneer protectors. Those pages lay flat, but the Pioneer ones let the paper extend into the spine and cause the page to buckle. Ick.
The WalMart album only had a copyright tag on it that said "Daisy Hill". I cannot find anything on the WalMart site that indicates that they carry accessories for this brand. I can't find anything online about this brand. Does anyone know whether this is indeed the name of the WalMart brand, and whether they sell additional page protectors for it? Or whether there is an online source for page protectors with a wider hinge that would fit this album?
Now I see why scrappers develop brand loyalty for a particular type of album ... they aren't standardized!
