fabric shops in Philly or Archives...

I KNOW I've seen this information here before, and I'm sure it is in the archive, but since I switched from AOL newsgroups to Google, I don't know how to get to the archives. So.. can someone either tell me the name of a huge fabric store in Philly that I have read good things about here, or help me get to the archives so I can look for the info? TIA Julie

Please post this info to the group, as we have a family wedding in May of '06 in Philly and my DH is usually good about visiting stitching shops, so I know I can get him to take me to a fabric shop.

Any not to miss needlework shops in Philly? We'll only have two days before the wedding to explore, so it would have to either be in Philly or very close by.

Thanks in advance.

Do you mean Kathy Dyer's site, or do you need to know how to do a search on Google? I don't recall there being an 'archive' on aol (but maybe I've been out of the loop since the beginning).

If you are looking for Kathy Dyer's site, do a search on Google. If you don't know how to use google, enter your search terms in the box beside rec.crafts.textiles.needlework; e.g. fabric stores Philly. If you can't find the post you are looking for with those terms, try other ones. If you use the search box at the top of the page, it will search all groups on Usenet. If you use the one beside the group name, it searches only this group. Dora

I'm looking for a fabric shop. Like JoAnne's but bigger. In DC we had G Street, which carried just about every type of fabric you could imagine. I thought I read that there was some huge, super priced one in Philly proper.

I've been to Strawberry Sampler - nice sh> Are you looking for a needlework shop, or fabric as in dressmaking? The

This was posted somewhere a while ago. I moved away from the Philly area 22 years ago, and my favorite shop was a little place on Torresdale Avenue which has been closed for a long time. I never shopped on Fourth Street, so I can't comment.
