Finishing Happy Dance

I've just finished my version of the solar system that I've done up for my nephew. I cross-stitched it last fall and have now prepared it for hanging.

No, but it is iridescent...I thought it was from Silkweavers, but I don't see the colour listed. I really need to come up with a way to remember these things. How do the rest of you remember what fabrics you used?

Someplace I have a page that Bobbie V gave me from a stitchers journal. I'll see if I can find it!

I keep a hand written journal - a page for each project. When a project is complete I clip the corner of the page with scissors. This allows me to quickly find UFO's and WIP's.

Anyway, on the project page I write in the pattern name, designer, material, start date, finish date and all types of information regarding that project. I use to keep track of the hours spent on each project but I don't to that anymore.

As I have been doing this for many years now, occasionally I'll curl up on the couch with a glass of wine and my journal and reminisce. Some of the projects are in my house but most are gifted to loved ones. So, the journal brings back all of the who, when, why's. It's a lovely evening.

FWIW,

This sounds so awesome! I may have to borrow the idea - may add a picture of the finished product as well. . .

Ya know, adding a picture is a great idea! Wish I had thought of it and done that from the beginning. Oh well, it's never to late to add something new.

Just as a side note, when my husband was alive, we were fewmew. I did a double take the first time I saw your initials.
