Getting things done!

Light green and yellow can be nice, neutral colors for babies. Especially if you get them in the right tones. Of course, that's a matter of personal preference.

I especially like ecru. From what I have seen, white seems frowned upon. Perhaps a rejection of the past and in favor of brighter colors which sometimes look garish, to me, on babies. I made my grandson a blanket, jacket, and bonnet in ecru with pale wool embroidery.

A good idea. Just ask my friend's "son", who wound up being named Naomi.

Don't feel bad about the last time. Some women can keep their supply up with limited feedings, but a lot of women can't. If you can nurse exclusively, or nurse and pump the rest of the time, you're *much* more likely to be able to keep your supply up. And while most babies bite at some point, they rarely do it more than once or twice. They learn very quickly it's a Bad Idea and don't do it again.

I actually don't feel bad at all, since I set my original goal at the first three months solid and made it to four! My supply remained even with limited feedings, and the timing just felt right for stopping.

I have found that every child, every mother and every situation is different. Every mother has to do what feels right and is best for everyone in the situation. I felt very comfortable with my decisions and don't regret any of them...and I am looking forward to seeing how this baby does and how we work together!

Good! Seems like a lot of moms beat themselves up over stuff like this, and goodness knows we have enough to deal with without feeling guilty ;-)

Our grandmothers often used a drawer as a crib - in those days money was very tight in a lot of families and they just couldn`t afford to buy a crib. My mother told me that my uncle (her baby brother) slept in a drawer!

I have a friend who told me that her boys slept in a cardboard box.

I love the Laura Ingalls Wilder books, and that's where I got the idea. (In fact, my daughter is named after one of the Ingalls girls.)

Another place that my mom and I have used in a pinch is the bathtub. Just line it with some nice, soft blankets. Of course, this is for non-mobile babies who can't accidentally turn on the water!

Joan, who has also used the open dishwasher door as a table for young ones. Necessity *is*, after all the mother of invention! :)

Thanks for the tips Brenda! I was considering whether I was going to use a double sided tape or a rubber cement to attach the mat to the foamcore...I guess I don't need to use either!

I definitely want mat though, it's the right texture for the piece.

Yep, we have lots of black, red and white for the little one to enjoy. I did the same thing with my DD and have her stuff left over. But I don't want the whole room in that color scheme (and I think my DD would protest as she is going to have to share her room!) But I did want bright and pretty!
