Hi Guys, The mountains are superb and it is absolutely GREAT up there -- now
-- LOL! The first few days were a nightmare -- problems with the water valves leaking when the water was turned on, had to stay in the local Best Western the first night, had the SMDGD with me and then had to pay a plumber to fix the leak -- ALL in about 90F temps -- YUCK! Now, it IS a dry heat but I had the SMDGD with me so was having to scuttle all over doing stuff to keep her entertained. Once DD came and got the kiddo and they went back to the Valley, the heat wave broke and it never got above the mid-80's the rest of the time and that means it was only in the mid-70's in the cabin. I got three of the dress for the SMDGD sewn and finally got started on some needlework yesterday. It's the design of a Curtiss P-40 (WW2 war plane with the shark's teeth on the nose) and it's meant for DH. Janet bought all the stuff but isn't quite up to doing that much CXS so I will stitch the piece and she will frame it. Problem is -- and Janet doesn't know this yet -- only ONE of the floss colors she purchased are called for in the design! I'm not quite sure just WHAT design she ordered the floss for but it ain't the P-40 -- LOLOL! I'm in the Valley right now so will be heading out to JoAnn's tomorrow to purchase the DMC necessary to sstitch the piece! Tomoprrow is the SMDGD's very first day of Kindergarten so I wanted to be here to meet her teacher and see her class room. The school has asked that at least one faily member attend the firt day of class with the kids so that they don't get too scared. Since both her Mom & Dad will be in attendance, I only need to be there long enough to get a look see at the teacher & the class room -- Thank Heavens -- LOLOL! Could you see me spending hours in a room full of five year old kids
-- NOT, most surely NOT!!! OK -- enought for now. I'm looking forward to getting the floss and getting back to the 6,700 elevation of the cabin and out of this
