I'm sorry, I'm sorry

I started a fabric war with out intending too...sorry folks

I'll use what ever works and the only thing I'll never use again is an un even weave linen (looked terrible and boy am I glad it was a tiny piece)

California Sampler (when I get back to it) is on an uneven weave, which I didn't notice till I'd gotten well into it. Fortunately, it's uneven in the correct direction, so things are tall and skinny rather than short and fat.

And since it is an old-fashioned sampler, I think that adds to the charm.

I really hate to admit it but I'm kind of liking the fabric war. It's fun to hear all the opinions. Another plus is that I've been learning a lot about the different fabrics.

I just hope no one is taking it so seriously that they are really angry or upset. I would bet the farm that nobody wants that to happen.

Well, you could just stir the pot with the old mayo/salad cream discussion! :-)

I'm with Lucille---whenever we have a "fabric war" I learn a little something. And it has made people think about other aspects of fabric choice; Mirjam's post about unknown fabric, for example. I was thinking that sometimes one sees an interestsing piece of fabric, and then tries to find a project to use it, and other times you have a great project idea, and then look for fabric to make it work. Funny how things work. Dawne

Please don't worry about it! So long as people are polite, discussions about materials and designs, etc. are interesting, informative, and rather fun!

This wasn`t a war it was an educated discussion , were we all share our various experiences, Thank you Dawne for your kind reaction to my post , i always say that some Fabrics TALK to me , They say ;" I want to be a shirt /skirt / cushion" ... some even lure me with "See how nice my prints are to be used in applique !!!" And than like you say on other time we have the idea before we have the matching cloth ,,, it is all part of the fun . mirjam
